Taster Session - 2hrs - £40

If you are looking to learn the basics, or there is one specific thing you would like a go at this is for you.

Likewise if you are not sure what type of boat is best for you and some advice/demos are needed, then book onto one of these.

The taster session covers some basic strokes and key information about kit and its uses, all under the watchful eye of one of our instructors Kevin or Nick

BCU 1 Star Award in Paddlesport - All day - £70

The BCU 1 star is a brilliant way of learning the key skills that will set you off on whatever paddling path you aspire to, whether it is just occasional days out on calm lakes or canals, or one day you would love to do epic expeditions. The one star covers the foundations of any type of paddling - Boat Body and Blade, how to sit correctly, how to paddle forward efficiently, turn effectively and of course bail out of your boat when things don't go to plan. 

Even if you have been paddling for years but have only taught yourself, you would be very suprised at what you will learn. Also it is a recognised qualification, and people will be able to see that you are competent in the basic paddling skills.

The 1 Star is done both with single blade (open canoe) and double ended blade (kayak/Sit on top)

We can supply all the kit you need (including boats) but of course if you already have it and would prefer to use it, bring it.

BCU UKCC Level One Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport - £220 - 4 Days

From time to time we will run these courses, if we are doing the dates are given on our homepage.

The Level One coaching award is your first step to becoming a recognised and qualified coach.

There are some pre requisites as follows:

• Hold BCU 2 Star
• Foundation Safety and Resuce test Assessed (whats this?)
• Relevent First Aid Certified (whats this?)
• Member of local BCU authority (Canoe England, Canoe wales, Scottish Canoe Association, Canoe Association Northern Ireland) - More info available from the BCU
• Stamped CR Form (whats this?)

Foundation Safety and Rescue Test - £50

If you want to become a coach or you paddle regularly with friends, you owe it to people that you know how to rescue them if something bad were to happen.

The foundation safety and rescue test, as the name states, gives the foundations in water based rescues. We have the perfect location to do this as we have a lake on site. 

If you have some of your own safety and rescue gear please do bring it, if it is what you will use, it makes sense to know how to use it.
